Maia has been working with CoachArt since 2018, and currently manages institutional funding. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she has always been passionate about working in communities that encourage creative expression as a means of cultural healing. She graduated from Bennington College in 2015, where she studied Drama and Community Development, and co-founded Check All That Apply, a student network organized around equity and inclusion advocacy. Before CoachArt, she worked with Q Youth Foundation and CASA 0101 Theater as a director and producer of LGBTQ and Latinx play festivals. She also worked as an Evaluation Assistant for InsideOut Writers, a non-profit that inspires transformation for incarcerated youth and adults through creative writing lessons. Maia is warmed to now be part of an organization that enriches the lives of youth and provides a community of support to their families.
