CoachArt is a nonprofit organization providing free art and athletic lessons to chronically ill children and their siblings between the ages of 5-18 in Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, and San Diego. From Cosmic Pictures and BYUtv, “Making Good” is a 30-minute unscripted series chronicling one man’s quest to serve. Host Kirby Heyborne (“The Three Stooges”) loves helping people and eagerly volunteers for organizations regardless of the circumstances and his background or experience. He channels enthusiasm to learn about new ways to make a difference, getting his hands dirty working side-by-side with founders of charities and non-profits who are touching lives all across the United States. Along the way, he shares laughs, tears, and songs with his newfound friends and learns exactly what it takes to make good.

Organized by CoachArt Los Angeles Senior Program Manager, Lizzie Neff, the episode was filmed at CoachArt’s Above the Clouds yoga and meditation lesson for CoachArt families at Spiritual Glamper in Malibu! Mats and blankets were provided by White Wave Yoga.

About CoachArt

CoachArt creates a transformative arts and athletics community for families impacted by childhood chronic illness. CoachArt was founded in 2001 by Zander Lurie and Leah Bernthal in memory of Zander’s father, Dr. Arthur Lurie, a cardiac surgeon who recognized the need for long-term support and enrichment among the pediatric patient population. Today, this non-profit organization provides high-quality, no-cost lessons and activities in arts and athletics to children in Los Angeles, San Diego, and the San Francisco Bay Area with the support of volunteers, community partners, and generous donors.
