Crowds Dazzled During Tri-Sport All-Star Games
The NBA, MLB, NHL or MLS all-star games each just feature a single sport — so they’ve got nothing on CoachArt’s three-sport All-Star Games that took place simultaneously in Los Angeles and the Bay Area on Saturday!
Speaking for the the Los Angeles team, we planned for months to execute a high caliber event in Bell Gardens, CA, as we had over 40 young athletes delight the crowds with athletic feats in basketball, volleyball and soccer. Volunteers arrived early in the morning to help get set up, and worked tirelessly throughout the day to facilitate stations for our young people and help make the day memorable.
The crowds remained enthusiastic throughout the day, watching the students show off skills they had learned through CoachArt — or were just learning that day for the first time. At one point, the famous “wave” spontaneously broke out in the stands!
The parents were very involved by cheering on and at times playing along with their children. They also got to enjoy a “Zumba for Parents Only” class that happened mid-event.
One big highlight of the day was the play-by-play of the soccer action being called by KLOVE and Univision radio personality Ysaac Alvarez. Then the students played the parents in a mega soccer rivalry — and Ysaac jumped in with the kids team!
The event culminated in a raffle, that awarded volunteers and students with fun prizes that CoachArt had been working to get donated over the last few months. Finally, we all capped things off by enjoying tacos, chicken wings and sno-cones during a scorcher of a day.
Thank you to all the families who traveled from all around LA to attend, and to the volunteers who made it a success. We hope to see YOU at the Art Showcase in November!
