CoachArt Goes Virtual: Online Lessons for CoachArt Kids

In CoachArt Community, Los Angeles, News, Our Mission, Parent Resources, San Diego, San Francisco

CoachArt’s 1-on-1 and group lessons have traditionally taken place in person. But now that everyone’s using “social distancing” to avoid coronavirus, we’re using “virtual” (online) lessons to allow our volunteer coaches to continue to provide transformative free lessons in arts and athletics for kids impacted by chronic illness.

Learn about CoachArt’s Virtual Programming!

Meet some of our staff who will be leading virtual lessons!

CoachArt will be offering free virtual lessons for our students, including:

[NEW] Virtual Tutorials:

These recorded video lessons (some shot on Facebook Live) will be available for any family to learn skills from our staff or volunteers. For Facebook Live lessons, visit us on the CoachArt Facebook page, here.  Our first virtual tutorial starts March 26th, 2020 at 2pm PST!

Virtual Clubs

These 4-8 week courses will have the same format and sign-up process as our in-person clubs, but they will take place on Zoom, an online videoconferencing service. We’ll be choosing activities that we think are the best fit for online lessons.

Virtual 1-on-1 lessons

Our volunteer coaches are utilizing video chat to provide 1-on-1 instruction for all sorts of arts and athletic lessons including music, dance, art, cooking, yoga, and more! All of our existing and new 1-on-1 matches will be provided with tools.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE FOR FAMILIES IMPACTED BY CHILDHOOD CHRONIC ILLNESS

Give a "virtual high five" on National High Five Day (Thursday, April 19th), and $5 will be donated to CoachArt!Since 2001, CoachArt has matched volunteer coaches with students for one-on-one or group lessons in arts and athletics. Our vision is that one day every family impacted by chronic illness will be connected to a community of support and an opportunity to learn and grow together.

CoachArt offers free art and athletic lessons to chronically ill children and their siblings between the ages of 5-18 in Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, and San Diego. If your child has been diagnosed with a chronic condition, we invite you to fill out a student eligibility form or get in touch to learn if CoachArt is right for your child.
