Bringing Smiles to San Diego Kids Impacted by Chronic Illness
CoachArt Family Day Brings Smiles to San Diego Kids and Families Impacted by Childhood Chronic Illness.
Saturday, June 29th, CoachArt hosted our first San Diego Family Day! CoachArt is a nonprofit organization offering free arts and athletics lessons for kids and teens impacted by chronic illness and their siblings. Since 2001, we have been serving families in the Los Angeles Area and San Francisco Bay Area, and this year, we have expanded our programs to serve families in the San Diego area.
San Diego Family Day was an opportunity for parents, guardians, and children to learn a fun new skill and to learn more about CoachArt and the types of services we offer for San Diego kids impacted by chronic illness, such as In Home Lessons, Group Clubs, and Workshops, which are designed to teach an artistic or athletic skill in a fun and supportive environment.
Kids at San Diego Family Day learned how to make a variety of balloon animals from a professional balloon instructor, and parents attended their own step-by-step painting workshop.
Is CoachArt Right For Your Child?
Does your child want to learn any art or athletic activity for free, either in 1-on-1 lessons or group lessons?
Qualifications: CoachArt kids are between the ages of 5-18, and have been diagnosed with a physical chronic illness that requires at least 3 months of treatment. Siblings of children impacted by chronic illnesses are also eligible to participate in CoachArt programs. Common diagnoses of children we serve include, but are not limited to: arthritis, cancer, cerebral palsy, diabetes, asthma, heart disease, HIV, kidney failure, Spina Bifida, craniofacial anomalies and various orthopedic disabilities
If your child has been diagnosed with a chronic condition, and you live in one of our service areas – Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, or San Diego – we invite you to fill out a student eligibility form for your child.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE FOR FAMILIES IMPACTED BY CHILDHOOD CHRONIC ILLNESS
Since 2001, CoachArt has matched volunteer coaches with students for one-on-one or group lessons in arts and athletics. Our vision is that one day every family impacted by chronic illness will be connected to a community of support and an opportunity to learn and grow together.
CoachArt offers free art and athletic lessons to chronically ill children and their siblings between the ages of 5-18 in Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, and San Diego. If your child has been diagnosed with a chronic condition, we invite you to fill out a student eligibility form or get in touch to learn if CoachArt is right for your child.
