5 Fun Projects for Kids to Do Anytime
CoachArt has come up with new ways to help kids thrive during the pandemic. In addition to CoachArt’s free online programming for families impacted by childhood chronic illness, we’ve created projects and activities kids can do at home or anywhere, whenever they have some free time.
For example, we invite kids to check out our Self-Guided CoachArt Lessons with detailed instructions, including:
- Create Your Own Comic
- Draw Yourself Simpsons-Style
- Cubist Art Lessons
- Keychain Craft-Making
- Paint Club Lessons
If you’re an enrolled CoachArt family, we’ll be glad to provide you with free lesson materials that your child can use to complete any of the self-guided lessons above — just fill out and submit this Lesson Materials Request Form.
We also host free live art tutorials on Facebook Live on Thursdays at 12 pm Pacific time/3 pm Eastern time. Like and follow CoachArt’s Facebook page while you’re there! You can see our schedule of upcoming Facebook Live tutorials on our Online Programs page. And kids can find and watch our previous tutorials anytime on Facebook or YouTube.

Create a Journal
Journaling helps kids remember their life experiences, and is a constructive way to process their thoughts and emotions. It’s also an outlet for storytelling and accessing the imagination.
Make a Paper Doll
Kids can create a paper doll based on a superhero, a family member, a famous person, an animal, a monster, or any other creature in the world or in their imagination. They’ll draw the shapes, color them in, cut them out, and attach them.
Go on a Scavenger Hunt
Kids can find hidden treasures on this page, and color them in as they go. Then they can look for the same treasures outdoors, and keep a written log of what they find — and what they think and feel.
Spin the Smoothie Wheel
This simple, six-ingredient “Jolly Green Smoothie” is easy to make in a blender. It’s full of nutrients and it’s delicious too!
